On March 27, 2018, you could find member of Croatian Flora Fauna Radio Club, Herbert, 9A8GHJ/p (aka OE7GHJ) on the air from Special ornithological reserve Palud-Palu, 9AFF-0046. Palud-Palu is a natural depression near the sea, which due to water flows from the surrounding hills, plateaus and from the source from the north side, turned into the swamp. At the beginning of the last century, a 200 m long canal was dug up to the sea to increase the salinity of water in the swamps, thus preventing the development of larvae of mosquitoes who were malaria transmitters.
